CWCD is rooted at a community level, the objective is to build and articulate strong children especially orphans, vulnerable children and women. They are working towards a brighter future for women and children and developing awareness and knowledge of the importance of early childhood development to Tanzania. CWCD presents awareness workshops and presentations to educate those in rural and impoverished areas. Topics of the presentations include HIV/AIDS, general health and hygiene, women`s and children`s rights, and female genital mutilation. The impact of the presentations is much greater when a foreigner is the doing the workshop.
Volunteers can assist by doing the following tasjs :
Volunteers will be working with staff at the centre to prepare presentations, question periods, handouts and props, and brainstorm new ideas on how to present the topics in the most effective way. They will also spend most of their time presenting their topics to groups in and out of the city. Other tasks that you may be requested to preform outside of your core duties: Training local members to present their topics and working with local members to create Swahili handouts.
