How much is the equipment for waxing cross country skis?
I have not skied in a decade but I want to get back into it. I will mostly go on groomed trails in the classic style. I always waxed my skis myself but never needed to own the proper equipment.
I like to go fast but I have a limited income so I was looking at waxless skis. I really want waxable skis I just don’t know how much everything costs for that.

That should give you an idea of prices. You might get better deals at Campmor or Sierra Trading Post. I just happened to have the EMS site bookmarked.
The Swix tour pack is $28. You also need a scraper and a brush. Personally, I use a plastic ice scraper I got for free and just beveled down the edge so it’s even. Don’t waste $60 on a waxing iron when you can get and old clothes iron for $5 at the thrift store. As for brushes…I’ve found comparable brushed at hardware stores for $5-$10 vs the $20 ones they sell in ski shops.
