How do you take care of a soft shell turtle?
well, i want to know what they eat and how many do i have to change their water and… well, mostly every thing you know about turtle so please help me how to take care of my new soft shell turtle!!!!!!!
Soft-shells are among the toughest of turtles to care for, have nasty tempers and get quite large. Your best bet is to return it to wherever you got it.
Your second best bet is to do what you should have done before you got the turtle. Learn everything you can about them. There are good turtle books by Carr, by Pritchard, by Pope, and by Ernst and Barbour. Read as many as you can and try to duplicate natural conditions for the turtle. The books will tell you almost everything but that softshells seem to have “Bite Me” written on them. Never put another turtle in with them.
