What is the best way to learn how to snowboard? Im na intermediate mtn biker, skater?
im very athletic and learn very quickly, but this is my first time snowboarding. Is it really necessary to take lessons?
Are you used to being on a skateboard?
If you are that will help you a bit.
Only on the snow, you wont be pumping with one leg.
Both feet will be in the bindings and remember to not stiffen up or you’ll be on your knees – and that is not fun.
Best bet is to take lessons at the mountain you ride at.
Are you a skier? Go where you ski regularly and see if they have a beginners package for you to rent the equipment and take a few lessons to get your grove and knowledge. You need different boots, bindings and a board. Some like helmets and knee pads and wrist supports too.
Don’t buy a board until you are decent on the rental equipment.
When you do buy a board, I recommend Burton.

Have fun & take the lessons, they will get you up and ready quicker than trying to learn on your own. And you can get to the good stuff sooner – like learning how to catch some air and start the half pipe
