Going to New York City in the winter. Will I look like a dork if I wear a ski jacket?
The only warm clothes I have are big, michelin man-esque ski jackets. Will I look like a dorky tourist for not having a nice coat? Or do others wear poofy, ugly jackets?
You’ll be fine. I got something similar with a removeable hood that I wear with my ESS Ice 2.4.
I keep it handy when I do not want to carry an umbrella around.
Try to get a sweater or something similar so you can have layers. Often stores, restaurant, etc. will crank up the heat and you will be roasting like a chestnut on an open flame in minutes.
Gloves are a must and will come in handy along with sunglasses and hat/cap. Yes, I did say sunglasses. When snow is on the ground and the sunlight hits it just right, you will be glad you have them so you can see properly where you are walking so you don’t fall.
