Parents are making me wear a helmet, and i am the only kid that wears on at my skate park!?
I have been skating for about 2 years now, I totally understand wearing a helmet the first year or the first half of year, but after 2 years you are used to the board and you have balance. I am more of a street skater then a vert 1 as well so im not going fast speeds at all. Im 14 and my parents treat me like a child. They care way too much .( Im not saying i dont want caring parents its just they care way too much) Im ebarrsed to even go skating now. people are always asking me why am i wearing a helmet when im not even doing anything dangerous. The worst that happens to me is cuts on my ankles , and im pretty sure im not gunna die from that! i need to way to convince my parents so they let me skate with a helmet. please help !!!
and wearing 1 is not an option so dont give me those stupid answers about better safe then sorry
I had to drive my best friend into the hospital to get brain surgery because he had his helmet on. Had his helmet been off, I would’ve had to call the coroner. I suggest wearing your helmet for now. Even if you think you’re a good skater, it’s the other people you need to watch out for. My friend got pushed by some guy behind him (don’t really know what happened there) as he was dropping in, lost his balance, and hit the side of his head on the coping. Now, I can’t make you wear a helmet, so if you’re really too embarrassed to wear it, take it off when they leave and put it on when they get there. If you feel guilty doing that behind their backs, then you SHOULD be wearing a helmet.
