Persimmon Lens
Oakley Replacement Lens?

I recently bought some Oakley M Frame sunglasses with the Persimmon Hybrid Lens, and I think that these lens’ aren’t dark enough, First question, does anyone have persimmons lens, and how do people like it? It doesn’t seem like safety glasses to you?
Secondly, where can I get some vented replacement lens? I want something like black iridium or some, just something thats more of a shade, not just a tint, I looked on the Oakley site, but they were all 70 friggin dollars? Anywhere cheaper? Help!

You can try to look on eBay for replacement lenses.

The Persimmon has 61% light transmission, which would primarily be used in very low-light settings or yes, largely as safety glasses.

If you want what you’d probably consider normal sunglass tint, you probably have to drop below 20% transmission, and down to the 10% range for the strongest tints.

Oakley makes a lot of lenses for a lot of settings, and it’s wise to be familiar with them and read up a little before jumping in. The Persimmon is not a “normal” sunglass lens — if anything it’s a lens for rainy days.
