How do i get more horsepower out of my jet ski?
I am looking to get more speed and better performance out of my yamaha waverunner xlt 800 2004.
well there’s quite a few things you can do.. But 1st check the compression with a comp. tester and make sure it’s within specs ( in case it needs new piston rings )
You can have the carbs re-jetted, intake grate upgraded to a performance model that has less cavitation @ high speeds, and a new impeller. But with a different pitch impeller you will have to sacrifice some top end for power/take off or sacrifice power/take for top end speed.
On mine I did both and eventually went for more torque/power take off because I never saw why I needed to go 75 mph on a wave runner in the 1st place. Was more fun having enough power on hand to hit 7 foot swells, roller and wakes instead..
These are just a few thins you can do unless you want a full rebuild with bigger cylinders and higher compression pistons which then you run 98+ octane
