What is a more exciting Rating in the Navy, Gunners Mate or Master at Arms?
What type of Billets are available for each? I already know the basic description of each Rating, I am looking for more specific information about the types of mission that could be expected in either rating. I would be interested in hearing Coast Guard experiences also.
There are no MA’s in the Coast Guard. Truth is it depends on the person. A both have their moments, good and bad. If you are mechanically inclined (enjoy working with machinery) you may want to be a gunner’s mate. MA’s may seem like an exciting career, but standing at a gate at 3AM, alone may change your mind.
