Is a 3.5 gpa good enough or should i be worried?
Hi, I am going to be a junior in the fall, i had 2 B’s and 2 A’s on my final report card which i believe is an average of a 3.5 gpa. I took 2 honors classes my sophomore year, and I am planning on taking the IB. I was in the yearbook club last year along with band, and i raised money for kids in Africa this year too. Next year i will join the Ski team and do more voluntary work. I really want to go to the University of Michigan, or just a one of the big ten schools. If i do well on my ACT’s, do i have a chance? Remember i am going into my Junior year. Please help, and give advice. Thank you 
oh and i just want to add i lived in a foreign country for a couple of years, don’t know if that matters or will make a difference.
The average GPA is higher than a 3.5, but with your extra activities you already have a pretty good chance. I’m in the IB program at my high school, and colleges do recognize it as harder classes, so it’s good that you plan on doing that. The average ACT score is a 29, so if you do better than that you have increased chances of getting in as well. I would really try to get more A’s in your next year to bring up your GPA, but you definitely still have a great chance!
