The Kansas State Wildcats have played an interesting season thus far. The wins seem to have a few strategic losses peppered in between giving less than optimistic fans cause for concern during this 2009 football season. At the start of the season, they took home a win against Massachusetts 21-17 but followed up with two losses in a week’s time to Louisiana 15-17 and UCLA 9-23, the latter of which was just not a good game for the Wildcats.

They were back on their A-game against Tennessee Tech with a fantastic win that was nearly a shut of 49-7 and a close, tight game against Iowa State that the Wildcats won by just one point. Texas Tech came prepared for the next game and defeated the Wildcats 14-66. Texas A&M was a near complete reversal and the Wildcats beat Texas A&M 62-14.

Colorado barely pulled down six points and was unable to get any more points in as the Wildcats took home another win from Manhattan, KS 20-6. The weeks ahead in the season promise to be some interesting games as the Kansas State Wildcats take on Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska all in away games.

Overall team statistics show the Wildcats have been scoring an average of 26.8 points per game with rushing and passing at 85 and 46 respectively. As far as individual statistics go, at the top of the list is Daniel Thomas who has been giving it a great shot every time he hits the field. Following close behind in the top five player rankings are K. Valentine, Grant Gregory, Jarell Childs and Carson Coffman. Coaches and anxious fans alike are watching these players and the rest of the team to see how the rest of the season continues to unfold for the Wildcats.

Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium is often affectionately referred to as “The house that Bill built” and a fine house it is. Constructed in 1967 and officially opened in 1968 with an original construction cost of just under $2 million dollars for the original structure, this stadium gained its name in 2005 after retiring coach Bill Snyder who helped the Wildcats obtain 25th place in NCAA history for the longest home winning streak.

Since 1999, Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium has housed record numbers of fans in games against Nebraska, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado and Missouri. Many updates and renovations have been made and seating choices are varied in price and location from general admission seating around the U-shaped stadium. The upper deck on the east grandstands, club seating and luxury seating were added in 1998 so that the stadium could hold more than 50,000 patrons. Another renovation in 2005-06 increased capacity again to 52,200. More expansion is planned for the Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium as a part of the Phase II project.

The length and height of the press box will be expanded to the same as the upper deck on the east side. Included in the new press box will be suites the same as the east side suites. Fan can also expect upgrades to the west side bathrooms and Cat’s Closet store as well as the concession stands.

Located at 1800 College Avenue in Manhattan, Kansas, Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium has FieldTurf to mirror the same game experience that the professionals have on the field. The Kansas State Wildcats have been playing home games in this location since it’s opening in 1968 and have seen many victories as well as losses since that time. When you want to experience a home game with a fantastic crowd and open air, there’s nothing quite like heading to Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium.
