Alarm/beep from left boot panel in a Meriva?
On certain occasions when starting my car I get either an alarm that lasts for about 30 seconds, or a vibrating with an intermittent beep, from inside the card. This is coming from inside the left panel in the boot. The vibrating beep has kept going all night, until the next day when the car has warmed up. Any ideas 
The alarm bleeps as the internal battery in the power sounder has Failed. This is a common problem on all the Astra’s, zafiras, merivas with the alarm system. The cheap cure it to remove the power sounder box completely from the vehicle and tape up the plug connector as a new power sounder can cost £80.00 plus vat.
When removed you will still have a working alarm, if someone enters the vehicle the secondary horn will sound.
