Snowboard size, bindings, everything?

I’ve been looking at a ton of Burton boards lately and i just have no idea what to buy. I’m a beginner (boarded for two years, 5 years ago, and just started up again) who just doesn’t enjoy the hassle of renting. I’m also thinking of buying used gear too.
does it matter women’s vs. men’s boards? i’ve noticed that alot of girls use men’s boards…if so what size mens board should i be looking in?
what are the characteristics of good bindings and boots?
i’d really love to get burton…. but am also on a budget max at 500 for board, boots, bindings. so what other brands are good?

First off…it really doesnt matter mens vs. womens boards. a board is a board no matter how you look at it. the sizings aren’t different either…If you’re done growing then i suggest getting a board that is a little bit bigger than you. Since your just starting up again, i hihghly doubt you’re going to be going off rails and such…but if you are, a smaller board is better, for it’s easier to control and spin with…
boots really don’t matter…whatever is comfortable and warm is fine
Bindings are something to look somewhat hard into…response is what you want in bindings… i have Burton FREESTYLE bindings and they seem to work fine…they were about $110 but worth it…theyre good quality and they never come undone…Burton, Ride, Flow, or Forum bindings I find to be great quality bindings, but are placed at somewhat high prices (depending on the place you go to and if they have any deals)
anyways, If your looking to just have a good time on the trails and you DONT go on the terrain parks, I’d go for a relativel cheap board with decent quality bindings and comfortable boots. if you DO go on the terrain park, your lookking at high quality bindings and a light board…make sure what you get fits your needs…dont listen to what others say if its not what you want. Have fun!
