Ski Race Boot Question?
What flex should I have for my alpine race boot? I am 4ft. 11in. and weigh about 85-90 pounds. I am looking at Atomic race boots or Nordica, and possibly Langes. I want to now if I should get 80, 90, or 100 flex.
Don’t base your choice of boots on brand. The best boot for you is the one that fits YOUR foot. The Atomic MJ 70 is a soft flex junior race boot with a wide forefoot and snug fitting heel pocket. Several of my racers use this boot, it is soft enough to “feel” flex transitions, firm enough to power the ski at the end (phase 3) of the turn. Go to a shop that has experienced bootfitters, ask your coach for recommendations.
