What determines the startlist or running order for a world cup alpine ski race?
Is is the previous races standings? Overall standings? Does the 1st place overall go last or first or when?
As in most Olympic competitions of this sort, the times for the heats and/or qualification runs are used. For example, the person with the slowest time in the quarterfinals who makes it to the finals goes first. The person with the faster quarterfinal run goes last in the finals. (this is supposed to be the most advantageous posistion. Does that make sense?
